Toronto workshop madness! Monster trucks! -

hey er’buddy!

my good friends, the national theatre of the world, put together some workshops for me in toronto in a couple of weeks. i’m really pumped and it should be a hell of a time. the price is right and the NTOW have been kind enough to toss in some fantastic extras that REALLY sweeten the deal. i can’t wait to roll on TO, dump some world class falafel down my chumhole, and climb the CN tower like a sasquatch doing lines of king kong’s blood.

check out the this here for more info. i’ll also be posting soon a schedule of upcoming us and canadian show dates. rawr!

this is currently one of my most favorite things in the world. the circle game. you may remember it from puberty. it’s one of those things that has mysteriously spread through middle schools across the u.s. and possibly beyond. like chinese cuts, “we need a pitcher, not a belly itcher,” and specialty 4 square rules.
basically, you make a circle with your thumb and forefinger (pictured above), much like an “okay” gesture. then trick another participant into looking at it. there are rules, however. the circle must be below the target player’s waist. additionally, the “circler” cannot use physical contact as a tool in drawing the “circlee’s” attention.
if a target player skewers a circle attempt with a forefinger without looking, the victory goes to the target player.
some versions of the game have a 3 punch penalty for looking at an opponent’s circle. i don’t like to play that way. it’s just fun “circling” people.
unless one makes it clear that they do not wish to participate, after learning of the game, they are actively playing it. knowledge is consent of entry into competition.
the circle game. so sweet.

my improv team, DUNK is doing a show in Boston on June 16. sadly, i’ll be in Canada and won’t make the show, but my teammates are the most funny, friendly, and grimy people i know. if you’re in town, check this out. it’s going to be an outstanding show. make a night of it. take your wife on a date, for crying out loud!
